VOLUNTEERING VIP PROGRAM

Sandy Ridge BMX, like all USA BMX sanctioned tracks, is run by the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. We greatly appreciate the parents and riders that help make our track, and the sport of BMX, possible. Any amount of time, whether it's two days a week or two hours a month, is welcomed.

As an added incentive, we have developed a VIP (Volunteer Incentive Program). For every 5 hours of volunteer time you give the track, you will receive 1 free single points race or 5 free gate practices. Plus, the volunteer with the most hours logged at the end of the 2017 season will earn free gate practices for the entire 2018 season! It pays to volunteer!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

CONCESSION STAND

BMXers get thirsty and hungry! You can help keep everyone fueled-up and hydrated by volunteering in our concession stand. Concession stand volunteers are needed during gate practices and race days.

SCORER

In BMX racing, it all comes down to who crosses the finish line first! As a scorer, you’ll be right there to record riders’ number plates and their placings. Great eyes and attention to detail are important for this role. Scorers are needed on race-days only.

STAGER

Stagers keep our racers in line. No, really! Their job is to let riders know which motos are needed on the starting hill and at the gate, as well as which lane the rider should be in. If you like keeping things organized you’ll love being a stager. Stagers are needed on race days.

GATE OPERATOR

If you’re comfortable pressing a button and wouldn’t mind seeing race action from the top of the starting hill, operating the gate is for you. Gate operators are needed Tuesday nights at gate practice and race days.

CORNER MARSHAL

Turns are where the racing action is at! Corner marshals not only get the best seat in the house, they make sure riders adhere to USA BMX rules when making moves around the bend. Corner marshal volunteers are needed on race days only.

TRACK MAINTENANCE

Are you skilled with a broom, shovel or weed wacker? Tracks need regular upkeep, and you can help keep Sandy Ridge BMX race-ready by pitching in a few hours each month. The more volunteers we have, the less time it takes to get the track looking and riding great! Help with track maintenance is generally needed during the week.
